So I have been thinking a lot about all that we have been blessed with. Right now we are going through some changes. I realize every day how blessed we are. Some of the blessings that have come about from unemployment are: Realizing how much I truly love my husband and how much I enjoy spending time during the day with him. Getting the kids teeth all taken care of. YAY!!! That in itself is priceless. So grateful for our church and the programs established to help those in need. Spending more quality time with my sweet baby boy. Since I have been working close t0 40 hours a week, the time that I have off is spent holding my sweet colt. I have loved hanging out with my kids and watching DVD's with them. Trying new recipes w/ Wyatt. The kids also know they can talk him into making anything new and fun. Tonight they made chocolate covered potato chips. I love how much quality time Wyatt has been able to spend with the kids. I guess when you are faced with difficult trials it helps to see the good in all things. When we do find employment I will very much miss having my sweetheart around during the day.

Reasons Bennett makes my heart happy! Benni is the biggest tease of all time, she loves to tease everyone. She eats her boogies (which is gross) and tries to get us to eat them. She says they taste like doughnuts, then she says just try em you might like them. She calls her Grandpa Austin Baby BOBO, because he once called her BoBo instead of Boo Boo; which we call her. SHe loves her Baby BoBo and gives him a bottle of diet coke when he visits. She was riding in the car with Wy and I and she wanted to go to Dipidee for a cupcake, we wouldn't stop so she got mad and said "I'm gonna kick yous assses". I know you shouldn't laugh but it was funny. She is just the funnest little munch-kin around.

DECEMBER 16, 2010.... Guess who is coming???

So December 16th turned out to be a pretty eventful day. I went to my two appointments. The first one at the hospital for my "advanced maternal age", to check the fluid since it had been low a few days earlier. Had an ultra sound all the while I kept telling the nurses that I had been having contractions or Braxton Hicks, not painful but definitely noticeable. The Dr came in and said I really wish you were having this baby today but no it looks like you are still set for the 27th of the month. So then I headed off to my regular Dr appt where he checked me and said yeah you are definitely not having this baby anytime soon. So I head on home and stop in to visit with my next door neighbor. While there I am still having these "contractions" but didnt think a thing about them because both doctors said I was not having the baby yet. I head on home have dinner then I am laying on my bed talking to my mom and suddenly I am wet. Granted I thought I had maybe peed myself since I had a nasty cold and every time I sneezed or coughed I would pee my pants. My water has never broke on it's own so this was a new experience. Wyatt was cute, trying to get the kids all in the car and loaded up. I was grabbing things to throw into a bag ( guess that's why they say to have a bag packed). We quickly got to the hospital around 9:30, met Lori there. The Buss' were AMAZING to take our kids and I didn't worry about them at all. Colt was born at 12:59 a.m. I must admit this was by far the hardest delivery ever. If all of the deliveries had been that hard I think our family would have been much smaller. BUT he is here and he is the most beautiful baby ever. He has red hair and blue eyes. Colt Wyatt Austin weighed 6 lbs 4.5 oz and 19 inches long. After he was born he had some air pockets around his lungs so he spent the day in the NICU, but he is perfectly healthy. He has brought so much joy to our home. The kids adore him, we all love him so much.

Halloween 2010

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Halloween. It is the kickoff to the holiday season and I love creating cute costumes for my kids. Granted they will seem like they are high on crack until after the new year, but it is a fun time of year. I love carving pumpkins then roasting the seeds. I love putting the kids costumes together and Wyatt's costume. I love taking them around the neighborhood to trick or treat. AND I love all of the fall and Halloween decorations. I just love it. Sydney is a vampire bride, I made her costume out of an old bedskirt, then Payson wanted to be a witch. I borrowed a black dress from a friend when Payson tried it on she said this is really plain so I made the tu tu and the purple bustier, and I gathered her sleeves. Thank goodness Jon wanted to be a football player so I didn't have to make his costume.

So we had a hard time coming up with a costume for Wyatt this year. His work always has a costume party; he has been Warren Jeps in prison clothes, A hula girl w/ a coconut bra, Nacho Libre and last year the Burger king KING. This costume though takes the cake. I had suggested be a fisherman from the TV show deadliest catch. Well if any of you know my Wyatt he takes it one step further. A fisherman from deadliest catch; however he has caught the deadliest itch...crabs. Oh he is one funny guy but I love him with all my heart and he cracks me up. The winner of the best costume from his office wins a flat screen tv.

Baby projects

So I have been trying to get a few things ready for the new baby. I made these wash rags and I think they turned out really good. I sewed flannel fabric onto one side of a plane white wash rag. Then put ribbon over the raw edge. I love how soft the flannel is. I used one to wash my face and I LOVE it. They were so easy, I need to make more to keep on hand for baby gifts.

YA YA SISTERHOOD GIRLS NIGHT OUT

I took the girls and a few friends to Thanksgiving Point for their annual Ya Ya Sisterhood night. We enjoyed cups of soup, shrimp nachos, chocolate fondue and little pumpkin cupcakes. (All free) We danced and cheered, wrote down our woes then burn them, chanted the YA YA chant. It was a great night, I look forward to it again next year, although the girls really want to go all out wearing dresses and feather boas and BIG hats.

While at the museum I was able to show the kids the kind of air plane that my Grandpa Smith flew during WWII. It was a B29; he was the tail gunner. I am always in awe at how these old planes were able to fly across the ocean to defend our rights.

We had a great time up at the museum on the Base. The kids loved it. We had a older man who was a tour guide walk us around. He tried to take our family picture but he was shaking sooo bad the picture didn't turn out. He offered to take other pictures but we kindly declined.

So I needed a new carseat for the baby but I didn't want to spend the big bucks on a new one. So I recovered my old one. I had been looking all over for the fabric and I was never able to find the exact color scheme that I wanted. Finally I found it at JoAnns and it was on sale. It was so fun to do this little project. I can't wait to get busy making more things for this little guy, hopefully I can get them done before he gets here. I'd better get busy since I started this carseat project about 2 months ago. :)

I love fall decorating. I love dressing warmer or at least wearing jeans and long sleeve shirts and people don't think you are crazy for wearing that. I love making soups and pumpkin desserts. I just love fall.

SO yesterday Bennett decided she was tired of her hair. She was either thinking that Billy Ray Cyrus has awesome hair or David Spade has it going on in Joe Dirt. Whatever, now she just has a horrible do that has to be pulled into a little pony on the top of her head. I guess it will grow back until then we are calling her Joe Dirt. She is crying in the last picture because I told her she wasn't cute anymore with this new haircut,( don't worry she still thinks she is cute) she hopefully will NEVER cut her hair again.

This is what our nights and Saturdays now consist of, FOOTBALL!!!! It is fun a big time commitment but it really is fun. My Jonny boy looks so stinkin' CUTE. He is getting really good too, at todays game he knocked a westlake (team they played) player down. He has been a little apprehensive about knocking people down, so I cheered very loudly when he knocked the kid down. More pictures to come in the next few months.

haircuts

Payson wanted her hair cut short, I was having problems with them cutting off 4-5 inches. It just takes so long to grow out, but she loves it. She says she can't stop smiling, she looks so grown up now. Sydney just wanted 3 inches trimmed off. They both look so cute with their new haircuts. All ready for school.

Kids got up early without any problems, very excited for the first day. Jon is sporting his DC shoes and shirt. Syd and Payson are wearing their Justice clothes, all glitzed up. Benni is happy to be home with mom watching dora and just having a mom and benni day. She is in HEAVEN. She loves the kids but loves the attention of mom.

I stared reading this book and I am really enjoying it. Jonny just stared football so I have a good 2 hours every night to read while watching him. I loved reading the JoyLuck Club, but that was years ago. So I am excited to have time to read and not be sidetracked into doing something else.

AZ trip

We loved getting to see our family in Arizona, unfortunately our car gave us some problems so it was in the repair shop most of the trip. It started to overheat on the way home from the Diamondbacks game on Tuesday night, luckily Wyatt was able to get out of downtown Phoenix and made it to Tempe. There in Tempe the kids were up close and personal with several homeless people. The kids were VERY scared. Wyatt was with his mom and jonny and 2 of their cousins. There we had to car towed to east Mesa. So Tiff and I drove to Tempe to pick them up. When we got there Jonny was shaking and just held on to me, he was saying how scared he was. We had it towed to a mechanic the next morning. Luckily we were able to use my Brother in laws car while ours was at the shop. All in All we were with out our car from Tuesday night till Friday evening. It was such a pain but luckily we were blessed to have had it happen in the city and NOT in the middle of the desert. We were also blessed that we were able to use a car and we were not without a car for the week. Unfortunately not able to make it down to Safford to see my family. We were very sad and tears were shed but it could have been worse. Luckily we were safe and it was just an inconvenience. On our way back home to Utah the kids were asking when we were going to Safford to see Grandma and Grandpa Smith, they were all very sad and crying when we told them that we couldn't make it because of the car problems. It could have been worse so I am grateful that we were safe and the car was fixed for the long drive back home.

We went to Amazing Jakes while in Arizona. The kids had a blast. We took full advantage of the all you can eat pizza buffet. We were there from open till close. Ten to ten- so that was breakfast lunch and dinner. By the time we ate pizza for dinner I was a little burnt out. PIZZA OVERLOAD! We had a great time while the kids played on all of the rides the adults just sat and visited. Benni and Ellie would ride the teacups over and over again. It was a ton of fun- thanks Kathie for the fun day!

Reception highlights

Everyone had a great time at the reception. Yes my kids are swimming in the pool in their nice clothes, when the party was winding down Jonny jumped into the pool then others followed him. Of course there are my girls swimming in their dresses as well. It was super fun and we are so glad we were able to make it.

Wyatt's Aunt Debbie and her Daughter Roni are so STINKIN' creative and talented. The reception looks like a wedding planner did it BUT no they did it all. It was absolutely fabulous. I loved the little antique touches through out from the china dishes, to the beautifully set tables, to the cookies displayed in drawers. All of Wyatt's family is so creative- the Aunts made all of the cookies and a lot of the food. It was such a fun event!

Summer vacation 2010

We went to Arizona this June for our summer vacation. We kicked off the vacation with Wyatt's cousins wedding. Everything was absolutely beautiful. The reception was in the Bride's parents backyard. I have seriously never seen a more beautiful wedding reception. There were so many amazing details. This reception has set the bar for my girls, they were like "THIS is how I want my reception!!!" It was so much fun to see all of Wyatt's side of the family.

Easter decorations

My absolute favorite time of the year to decorate for is easter and fall-Halloween. I love finding cute rabbits at Tai Pan. They have the best decorations. Seriously I could spend So much money there. They always have the cutest ideas. LOVE LOVE LOVE that place! P.S. excuse the dust and the bottle of sunscreen and the stuff hanging out of my drawers. I'd like to say it NEVER looks like that but... the sunscreen is right by the door (so we wont forget it when we go out), the girls are always crafting and pulling stuff out of the hutch, and for the dusting part, well I do that when I am expecting company.

Flowers make me so happy, this spring my yard looked soooo pretty. when we left for Arizona my flowers were blooming and beautiful, when we returned they had all fallen off and now my yard no longer has the purple flowers. If I could have any service given to me I would choose to have a gardener; someone to make my yard full of color and they would pull the weeds. For now I do that myself and most of the time I fall short. Oh well.....

Womens Conference at BYU

One of my absolute favorite highlights of the year is my girls weekend at Womens Conference. Tiff, Kathie, Lori and I went this year. We missed Krystal and Heather. We always have so much fun, and I will be so sad that this year because I will miss Womens Conference. I will be at home with my new baby, so that is why I will have to miss it this coming year. UNLESS Wyatt can start lactating..... then I can go for my girls weekend.

This year Easter was on the same Sunday as General Conference. I loved taking it easy not rushing to get the kids all ready for church. Later on that day the Buss' came over for dinner and the second session of conference. It was a great day and it was nice to spend it with family.

Valentines Day 2010

We made Candy Grams for the kids for Valentines this year. I was thinking that I kinda wimped out this year on the kids valentines, but they LOVED them. It was so cute. They also wanted a special dinner so we made chicken cordon bleu w/ Hollandaise sauce, funeral potatoes and cheesy broccoli. It was a fun day, and I love to make holidays special for my family.

Each of the boys were asked to make a cake for the banquet. Jon made a volcano cake and there was crumbled up heath bar on top and a cup of dry ice to look like steam that came out of the top.

So I am WAY behind on Blogging. Going to try to sum up this past year throughout the upcoming posts. My kids love the Aquarium, we have a membership there and I LOVE taking the kids there especially in the winter when you are so sick of being inside and it is too cold outside to do much. We can spend several hours there or we can pop in for a few minutes that's what I love about the membership.

Syd's Birthday

Syd's Birthday was kinda a bummer for her. She was so sick. Just kept throwing up all day long. I am so happy that Syd is MY girl. She is so sweet and nice and talented. I couldn't imaging my life without her. She is now 9 years old and looking so grown up. She got new clothes from Justice for her birthday and a spa factory where she can make lip gloss and perfume.

This is our annual Christmas breakfast. Egg casserole, cinnamon rolls, OJ, potatoes, and bacon and martinellis. Of course we use "the Santa" mugs which are only taken out on Christmas Day. We had a yummy breakfast!!!

Grandma sent us a gingerbread house. The kids could hardly wait to put it together. We had so much fun, I had to put aside my OCD and let the kids assemble it and load it with candy. So what if it isn't the "perfect" house, they had fun and that's all that matters.

Payson's Chef Birthday Party!

Payson's Birthday was December 18th. She wanted a huge extravagant party. We were able to come to a compromise and do a cooking party. I made chef hats and aprons. The girls made personal pan pizzas and gingerbread houses. The houses didn't quite turn out, but they had fun decorating the cookies nonetheless. All in all it turned out great. While the girls were eating their pizzas they decided to smash their FACES into their pizzas, covering their faces with grease. GROSS!!! We has a blast and it was by far the easiest party ever!!!

At the kids school they had a parade, we lined up down the halls and saw all of the kids walk by. I wasn't able to get Jon's pict (my camera was freaking out). The girls looked so cute. Syd looked so spooky, as a prom vampire; and Payson was a cute witch.

I have never been so proud of my son as I was tonight. Jon's boat was not good at all. It was a great design it was just too wide for the rain gutter. Jon would blow and blow to get it accross the finish line. He came in LAST place every time, but he was such a good sport. He didn't give up once. We rewarded him by going out for red mango yogurt after the race.

So the other day the girls had been begging me to let them do crafts w/ paint. I finally gave in and got out butcher paper and paint and set them up in the front yard. It got windy so they went into the garage. While in the garage I went into the backyard to mow the grass. I came back into the garage to find it covered in paint and their bodies covered in paint. After screaming a few obscenities I just laughed and took pictures. So I understand someday I will miss these messes, but right now I REALLY could live without these types of messes.

Wyatt has been coaching football with a buddy of his. They coach up in South Jordan for Bingham high School. It is their little league or pop warner teams. They are undefeated now with their 4th game this Sat the 19th. This makes Wyatt so happy and he is such a good coach. I am so glad he is able to do this, he LOVES it. I am sure the boys love him too. Maybe BYU will want him to be a coach, THEN Wyatt would be in HEAVEN!!!

I am so blessed, I have the best sisters in the world. They surprized me w/ a visit from Arizona. They are the best. We had such a good time together. I couldn't imagine my life without them. This Week has been a awesome week....My wonderful sisters came to visit me from Arizona. We had so much fun. Camille and Ryan and the kids came up w/ Sabra and Dottie(Sab's dog). We had SOOO much fun. They drove all night Saturday came into town Sunday morning. The kids were bouncing off the walls they were so excited.

Visiting Teaching

So this week my visiting teachers came by. I love the visiting teaching program. I love going to visit my sisters and get to know them better. My entire married life I really have not had visiting teachers. It has never really bothered me all that much. I just thought as long as I am doing my part I'm good. Anyways I was visited this week by my new visiting teachers. It was so great I felt so loved. I am such a nerd... one of my sisters offered the prayer and was blessing me that I can feel the savior w/ me and be comforted. I just started bawling. (I know big nerd) I never realized how much I truely love the visiting teaching program.

So it was a little more tramatic for Payson. The gun pinched her ear and she started screaming. I wasn't able to take a picture of her scresaming because I was holding her down so they could get the other earring in. She is all smiles now. I don't think she'll be asking for a second set of holes any time soon.... Oh it was sad but kinda funny.

This is our first NEW bed. Oh I love it, for the past 13 years we have been sleeping on old mattresses. We finally broke down and got ourselves a NEW and GOOD bed. I totally love it. Wyatt finally gets a good nights rest without getting kicked out of the bed...sorry babe.

So Bennie has been telling me secrets....they are so cute. She wispers in my ear and tells me "Dora ate poo poo" then she cracks up. She also says "Dora ate pee pee" . So I think she belongs in my family, especially since potty humor makes my family crack up.

I can't believe Syd is this old. My blue eyed baby girl is baptized. We had a wonderful day. The baptisim was at 9am. For our family that is EARLY!!!! We made it there on time. We felt so blessed to have both sets of grandparents there. So many family members were there. Thank you to Lori and Tom, Calie and Shawn, Wess and Peggy, and Sabra for all coming to share this day with us. A special thank you to Brian and Patsy and Jon and Kathie for coming. Christmas Eve Blankets...

So every year I make blankets for the kids to go w/ their pj's. The past 2 years I have bought their blankets because I always run out of time to make them. This year the older kids got comforters for their beds, Bennett got a DORA (big surprise) blanket, and Wyatt got a super soft blanket which I sleep w/ every night.( So I guess it might as well be my blanket:])

So it has been a LONG time since I have blogged. So I have a million posts. The kids and wyatt surprised me w/ Christmas pj's. They are so cute, the kids wanted to get me a hello kitty nightgown, but luckily Wyatt convinced them to choose something else. Bennett is sporting DORA, Payson Hannah Montana, Wyatt a ASU grey t-shirt w/ mesh shorts (those of you that know Wyatt know that he wears a grey t-shirt and blue mesh shorts...it is what he requests EVERY year). Jon and Syd are wearing Target bullseye jammies.

I love the snow but, today was crazy. I was shoveling out my car so I could run errands. The snow was up to the wheel base.Luckily one of my neighbors cleaned my driveway w/ his snow blower. Thank you!!!!

Last week we told the kids we'd play the flour game for family night. Well every night we had something going on so after a week of excuses we finally got around to playing the flour game. As you can see it is quite messy. We all had a good laugh when Wyatt was the FIRST to go into the flour after the penny. (He NEVER looses and has to dive in and search for the penny) We had fun and the kids love the game, I guess that's what it's all about.

Ok, so the other day Bennett was playing with these cards that have pictures of different animals on them. She came across this one and says "Dada", then she kisses the card and keeps saying "dada", when we ask her what dada says she pounds her hands on her chest and screams. Oh my Gosh she is so Stinkin' cute we love our baby girl.
